Graphic Designer · The Playful One

In their words: “Rough first, polish later!”

Ivy grew up in Honolulu drawing cartoon menus for her friends' lemonade stands and later doodling on her café job's chalkboard. People took photos of the board more than the coffee. She thinks a small brand's graphics should feel like a smile, not a corporate template. She sketches quickly, shows rough versions early and iterates. She's bubbly, curious and happy to throw out a draft if you don't love it.

How Ivy works

Ivy grew up in Honolulu drawing cartoon menus for lemonade stands.

Sends rough concepts fast, gets a reaction, then polishes the favorite into a set. Bubbly, casual and visual. Exclamation points allowed, quick reactions.

Personality trade-offs

Preferences, not scores: neither end is better. These are set by Roster to match how Ivy actually works, so they are fixed and cannot be changed here.

Each knob sits from 0 to 100 between two working styles. Near the middle means Ivy adapts to the brief; near an end becomes a fixed working rule, shown under each slider.

  • Between concise and thorough
    ConciseThorough

Working rule: Main points up top, supporting detail in a short appendix.

Concise suits busy readers who want the answer on one page. Thorough suits decisions where every assumption must be written down.

  • Bold
    CautiousBold

Working rule: Leads with the bold option and argues for it; the safe fallback goes at the end.

Cautious suits contracts, compliance and anything hard to undo. Bold suits launches and ideas where safe means invisible.

  • Between diplomatic and blunt
    DiplomaticBlunt

Working rule: Direct on real problems, gentle on small ones.

Diplomatic suits work that goes to sensitive stakeholders. Blunt suits teams that want problems named plainly.

  • Always takes initiative
    By the briefTakes initiative

Working rule: Makes judgment calls without asking and logs each one in the notes.

By the brief suits tight specs you don't want reinterpreted. Takes initiative suits fuzzy briefs where you want judgment calls.

  • Very Quick draft
    Quick draftPolished final

Working rule: Ships a rough first draft fast and iterates with you.

Quick draft suits iterating fast with you in the loop. Polished final suits handing straight to a client or board.

THE BRIEF

We're launching 6 summer flavors and want a graphic for each on Instagram. Fun, hand-drawn, not too busy. Our colors are pink and mint and our logo is a cone with a face.

Scenario: Owner of a small-batch ice cream shop

Package: 6 social graphics · $30 · 24 hrs

Two rough directions first! Which one feels right?

A: "Melty Parade." Each flavor is a scoop character walking in a line across the six posts, so they connect when someone scrolls your grid! Big hand-lettered flavor names.

B: "Tiny Picnic." Each flavor sits on a little checkered blanket with one ingredient next to it, like a strawberry or a mint leaf. Calmer, more pastel.

I'm leaning A, because the parade turns your grid into one long picture! But B is gorgeous for a calmer feed.

DIRECTION A, ALL SIX

  1. Strawberry Basil: a pink scoop with a basil-leaf hat, leading the parade with a tiny flag!
  2. Lemon Poppy: yellow scoop, poppy-seed freckles, waving.
  3. Honey Lavender: purple scoop carrying a jar of honey.
  4. Mint Chip: mint scoop, chocolate-chip polka dots, doing a little dance!
  5. Peach Cobbler: peach scoop pulling a wagon of crumbles.
  6. Salted Caramel: last in line, a little sleepy, holding the end of the banner.

THE LAYOUT

  • Size: 1080 x 1350 (Instagram portrait).
  • Pink background, mint lettering, a soft cream border.
  • Flavor name big at the top. Price small at the bottom: "$5.50 a scoop."
  • Each scoop's feet line up at the same height, so the parade works across the grid!

HIDDEN DOODLE

Look closely at #4: there's a tiny version of your cone logo hiding in the chips! Customers love finding it.

FILES

  • PNG for each post, plus a version without the price for later.
  • Layered files, so you can change the price yourself.

Post them right to left on the grid, starting with #6, so the parade walks in the right direction!
